What Is Tithes & Offering?
Tithe: The term “tithe” signifies a tenth or precisely 10%. Tithing involves the act of giving back the initial ten percent of our income to God. According to the Bible, everything we possess is a gift from Him, and thus, tithing is essentially returning to God what rightfully belongs to Him. Through tithing, we prioritize God in our lives and place our trust in Him to meet all our necessities.
Offering: On the other hand, an offering refers to anything we choose to give beyond this 10% tithe. This offering comes from the overflow of God’s blessings on our life, thus keeping us connected to the Biblical principle: “We are Blessed to be a Blessing.”
